EnergyAustralia, one of the country’s leading energy retailers, today launched a new No Frills energy plan designed to pinpoint customer concerns. It’s bare bones, offering simple, every-day low rates for electricity and gas. 

Chief Customer Officer Chris Ryan said many customers valued the ability to shop around for the highest headline discounts or products offering flexible payment options or price match guarantees. But many others just wanted simplicity and confidence that they are getting a good deal.  

“For a customer to feel they’re in control of their energy they need a plan that’s right for them and their circumstances,” Chris said. “While many people like a big discount, others have told us they find shopping around and comparing offers time consuming and confusing, and they are still not sure if they’re better off. 

“That’s why we created No Frills; it’s the offer for anyone who’s ever thought I just want my energy plan to be simple,” Chris said.

No Frills means low daily rates for electricity and gas. There’s no discounts, lock-in contract or price rises during the 12-month plan period. The average household in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland on No Frills can expect to pay less than $4 a day for electricity. 

While some other energy plans in the market have variable rates affected by seasonal rate changes, EnergyAustralia’s No Frills option doesn’t come with surprises; it’s the same rate all year round. Not only that, under Go Neutral, after 6 months customers with EnergyAustralia can offset 100 per cent of the carbon emissions from their electricity at no extra cost.

Customers on No Frills must pay using direct debit and choose eBilling.
