Actively support the renewable energy industry with GreenPower
You can add our GreenPower-accredited product, PureEnergy, to your business’ electricity plan. When you add PureEnergy to your business electricity plan, you're supporting the production of electricity from government accredited renewable sources (such as solar and wind).
You can sign up for PureEnergy and add GreenPower to the energy system for all of your electricity usage, or a part of it. This net-zero emissions electricity doesn’t feed directly into your power supply because all power sockets connect to the same grid, but an equal amount of renewable energy to your usage (or the part of your usage you choose) is added to the electricity grid to balance out your own grid usage.
As part of the GreenPower program, electricity retailers are subject to a two-tier audit to ensure no double-counting or greenwashing of environmental benefits occurs. The accreditation process ensures that only renewable energy that results in greenhouse gas emission reductions within the electricity sector can be accredited to participate in the program. It also rules out some large-scale hydro and native forest biomass.
GreenPower is an Australian government managed accreditation program helping the nation transition to renewable energy above and beyond legislated targets. GreenPower accredited renewable electricity produces net-zero greenhouse gas emissions.
Currently, most electricity comes from generators that burn coal. A smaller percentage comes from renewable sources such as the solar, wind and hydro.
As part of the GreenPower program, the GreenPower authority audits suppliers and accredits generators to ensure the renewable electricity you buy through EnergyAustralia meets strict environmental standards.

If you’re an existing EnergyAustralia business customer, you can choose the amount of accredited renewable electricity you’d like EnergyAustralia to buy on your behalf, whether that’s 10, 25 or 100 per cent of your electricity bill.
