Our new Large Business Carbon Neutral Electricity product offsets the carbon emissions from generating your electricity.

  • Available now for 1 January 2022 contract start
  • Standalone contract, can add alongside existing contract
  • Flat rate (c/kWh) charged on-bill
  • Rate is fixed for the term of the Carbon Neutral contract
  • Minimum 6 month Carbon Neutral contract term
  • EnergyAustralia large business electricity customers only

The carbon offsets we purchase come from climate projects in Australia and around the world. Many of these projects provide economic, social and environmental benefits to communities, in addition to offsetting carbon emissions.

EnergyAustralia will provide Large Business Carbon Neutral customers with a marketing toolkit to promote their sustainability credentials to customers and stakeholders.

Large Business Carbon Neutral Electricity purchased from EnergyAustralia in 2022 will be Climate Active carbon neutral certified.

How carbon offsetting works

Go carbon neutral - How carbon offsetting works
Step 1
If you’re using energy generated from fossil fuels, this releases carbon into the atmosphere.
 
Step 2
To reduce the environmental impact of your carbon emissions, we purchase certificates from carbon reduction projects which remove or cancel the equivalent amount of greenhouse gases released i.e. ‘offset’ emissions.
 
Step 3

The resulting ‘net’ level of those emissions is zero.
