Geelong’s own EnergyAustralia contact centre has been recognised as the best of its type in Victoria.

On Friday night EnergyAustralia’s Geelong operation was awarded best contact centre in the in the category for large centres. The award was part of the Auscontact Association’s Victorian Awards night.

To take out the award EnergyAustralia had to demonstrate how it manages and improves customer satisfaction and engages staff. Also considered was the centre’s contribution to corporate social responsibility initiatives.

Casey Kaminskyj, EnergyAustralia’s Customer Care Leader in Geelong, says that award is the culmination of a lot of hard work.

“Right across the business we’ve put a lot of effort into improving the experience for our customers. We’re now seeing that pay off with customers staying with us longer and more willing to recommend us to their family and friends.”

“We measure our success by how satisfied customers are by the support they’ve received. That means when customers call us, they can be confident they’re dealing with someone who genuinely wants to help them.”

The good news has created a buzz around the Geelong centre this week.

“There have been a lot of high-fives flying around,” says Casey.

“For the past two years, we’ve celebrated strong employee engagement results and regularly contribute to our local community with monthly fundraisers; our overall contribution is near $50k. We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished so far.”

With the Victorian win now under its belt, the team is now looking forward to the national awards to be held in October.

EnergyAustralia’s Geelong contact centre was opened in August 2014 by then Premier Denis Napthine. It currently employs over 300 people.
