EnergyAustralia, one of Australia’s leading energy retailers, said today it was proud to be rated the first-choice electricity partner for small business in an annual survey by customer satisfaction research agency Canstar Blue.
EnergyAustralia Chief Customer Officer Kim Clarke said the number-one ranking reflected two years of hard work to improve service levels and put customers at the heart of every business decision.
“Proud and grateful – that’s how we feel about our small business customers ranking us the best-performed electricity retailer for customer satisfaction in Australia,” Kim said. “Small business underpins our national economy and our communities; that’s why EnergyAustralia is committed to helping them get the most from their energy partner, so they can get on with what they do best.”
Canstar surveyed more than 500 small business electricity consumers, asking them to assess energy retailers against criteria including value for money, customer service, online experience, payment options, and energy-efficiency tips and billing clarity.
EnergyAustralia was the only retailer to receive the highest ranking in six of the seven categories, including overall customer satisfaction.
Kim said electricity costs are a major overhead for small business and many are looking for a retailer that will help put them in control of their consumption and take the hassle out of managing their electricity requirements.
EnergyAustralia found from researching the needs of small business that many consider switching energy providers but ultimately don’t go through with a change.
“Price is still important but often a small business will look at the process involved in switching retailers and decide it’s too hard. The change just isn’t worth the investment of their time,” Kim said.
“So at EnergyAustralia we decided we’d make a commitment to getting our service to small businesses right. The foundation of our offer is a competitive price but the real point of difference is that with EnergyAustralia it’s easy to make the switch, so customers save time and money.
“We’ve really worked hard to take the hassle out of switching energy retailers for small business,” Kim said.
