Australian EV drivers will soon be able to fast-charge at 7-Eleven stores across Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.
Ten ultra-fast charging sites, starting with three in Victoria, will be delivered over the next two years under a new partnership between EnergyAustralia and 7-Eleven.
Bringing ultra-fast charging to 7-Eleven's network of neighbourhood stores means drivers can top up while they grab a coffee, a meal or run a quick errand, making a full charge feel less like a detour and more like a regular stop. Each site will feature a 200kW or 400kW ultra-fast charger, enabling drivers to charge from 20% to 80% capacity in as little as 12 to 15 minutes.
"Range anxiety and charging inconvenience remain real barriers to EV take-up in Australia. Putting fast, reliable charging stations at locations people already know and visit regularly means topping up can become as natural as stopping for fuel has always been," said Jack Kotlyar, Head of Green Transport at EnergyAustralia.
"Bringing fast, reliable charging to locations people already know and visit regularly is one practical way we can make that transition easier for everyday Australians."
More than 156,000 electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles were sold in Australia in 2025, a 38 per cent jump on the year before, according to the Electric Vehicle Council.
For many Australians, the question isn't whether they want an EV but whether charging will be fast and convenient enough. This partnership sets out to change that.
Seamless user experience
Chargers can be accessed via the Chargefox app, Australia's largest EV charging network owned and operated by the country's motoring clubs, or by a tap-and-go credit card payment at the unit. Locations will also be listed on PlugShare, a free app used by EV drivers worldwide to find charging stations, check availability, and share reviews.
Rollout timeline
Installation across all three Victorian sites is scheduled for completion by the end of 2026. The first location, at 250 Bridgewater Road, Roxburgh Park, Victoria is now operational.
Over the next 24 months, EnergyAustralia and 7-Eleven will deliver a total of 10 ultra-fast EV charging sites: three in Victoria, four in New South Wales, and three in Queensland.
