Some consumers have recently received unsolicited phone calls from people claiming to work for EnergyAustralia. These callers typically demand money and threaten to disconnect power if some payment is not made.

This is an attempted scam.

If you receive a suspicious call, hang up immediately and contact our customer service centre on 133 466 and ask to speak to the Credit team.

Do not disclose your financial details.

Our consultants can verify the status of your account and whether you have been legitimately contacted by EnergyAustralia.

If you do receive a call you believe may be a scam, please lodge it with the Federal Government's Scam Watch website found at www.scamwatch.gov.au or call the ScamWatch ACCC Info Centre on 1300 795 995.

We encourage you to contact your local police if you believe you may be the victim of fraud.
