What is GreenPower?
GreenPower is an Australian government accredited program that enables businesses to support renewable electricity generation. When your business chooses GreenPower, the amount of electricity you use each year is matched with electricity generated from accredited renewable sources across Australia.
It’s a reliable and recognised way for businesses to contribute to Australia’s renewable energy transition while continuing to receive the same dependable electricity supply.
How does GreenPower work for businesses?
You choose the proportion of your business electricity usage you’d like to match with GreenPower - either 30% or 100%.
For the percentage amount you select, an equivalent amount of renewable electricity is added to the electricity grid from accredited Australian renewable energy projects. While your premises receives electricity from the shared grid as usual, your participation ensures renewable electricity is generated on your behalf through a trusted and independently verified program.

Add GreenPower to your business electricity plan
You can choose to match some or all your business’s electricity usage with GreenPower accredited renewable electricity. GreenPower charges are added on top of your standard electricity rates and are based on the percentage of usage you choose to match.

Promoting your participation in the GreenPower program
Businesses that add GreenPower to their energy plan can promote their participation in the program. Customers who choose 80% GreenPower or more, are eligible to use the GreenPower logo in their marketing activities to highlight their commitment to renewable electricity.
