Mallee Solar Park
If built, Mallee solar park will be capable of generating emissions-free electricity that provides Victorian homes with clean energy for more than 20 years.
Marulan Power Station
If built, the Marulan gas-fired power station located in the New South Wales Southern Tablelands will have a capacity of 700 MW.
Stony Gap Wind Farm
To be based in South Australia, this proposed wind farm could produce up to 123MW and save approximately 395,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions each year.
EnergyAustralia’s proposal for the development of Tallawarra Lands aims to provide positive environmental, employment and social outcomes for the Illawarra area.
Waterloo Stage 2
This project proposes to add six more turbines to Waterloo Wind Farm to supply enough green energy to power a further 7,516 households a year.
Mt Piper and Wallerawang Power Stations
EnergyAustralia has developed a number of projects to help support the management of our Mt Piper and Wallerawang power station assets.
Brown Coal Projects
EnergyAustralia is working with partners to develop demonstration and ‘first of a kind’ commercial plants. These projects aim to prove new technologies and develop alternative uses for brown coal, focusing on upgrading brown coal to high value products. Products include 'pulverised coal injection' (PCI, used in steel production), liquids, gases and chemicals.
In supporting these projects, EnergyAustralia is providing access to land, coal supply and utilities such as water and electricity.
Two examples of projects under development that EnergyAustralia is supporting are Coal Energy Australia and Ignite Energy Resources. These projects have been awarded government funding of $30 million and $20 million respectively under the Advanced Lignite Demonstration Program and both projects aim to produce PCI and oil from Yallourn coal.
