EnergyAustralia has launched an innovative product, Stack On, that allows eligible customers to save time and money by bundling a range of utility, data and insurance services and manage them all in one place.

EnergyAustralia’s Chief Customer Officer, Mark Brownfield, says that Stack On customers can choose from electricity, NBN internet, mobile plans, home, contents and car insurance services in a way that works for them.

“They might just want electricity and car insurance, for example, or to go for the whole shebang. There’s no service you have to have – pick what works for you – but the more services you select, the more you can save.

“There’s no lock-in contracts or exit fees with most products offered on a month-to-month basis,” said Mark.

EnergyAustralia has been working in partnership with Acurus, a Melbourne based ICT multi- product enablement company. Acurus has been instrumental in the development of these market convergence concepts.

Mark Brownfield said that with Stack On the more services a customer bundles, or “stacks”, the more Stack On Rewards they’ll earn.

“These rewards are credited to your monthly Stack On bill or can be taken as a cash back - it’s your choice,” he said.

Customers can be confident, says Mark, knowing services are provided by some of Australia’s biggest brands - EnergyAustralia, Optus and Open Insurance (backed by The Hollard Insurance Company).

“With Stack On you can see all your services in one online portal, your bills are simplified, and your calls are directed to an Australian-based customer service team. It’s great for busy people and makes budgeting easier. Having less accounts and passwords to remember is a bonus. Plus, we’re looking to add more products in future, making things even simpler,” said Mark.

A Stack On bundled service which includes electricity is initially offered to people in New South Wales and Queensland, while a bundle without electricity is available to those in Victoria, New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory, Queensland, and South Australia. The limited availability is due to Stack On being initially trialled through EnergyAustralia’s innovative On by EnergyAustralia platform. The platform uses customer insights to develop solutions that are trialled before becoming widely available.

“With On by EnergyAustralia, we get to innovate. We create, experiment and test new solutions for customers directly in market. It enables us to think outside the traditional energy retailer box, to innovative ideas that will save our customers time and money.

“While Stack On is a trial, if it’s something customers like we’ll roll it out to people in other states,” said Mark.
