A merchant service fee of 0.36% may apply for paying bills by Visa or MasterCard® and a fee of 1.5% for paying bills by American Express® for payments made up to 30 September 2026.
No merchant service fee applies to Visa, Mastercard® or American Express® payments made from 1 October 2026.
If you receive a printed copy of your bill via mail, a fee of $1.69 incl. GST will apply unless you are exempt from being charged this fee. Learn more about paper bill fee exemptions.
Some customers may be exempt from certain fees, including where fees are prohibited in certain states. This includes NSW, QLD, SA and ACT customers in our EnergyAssist program, those affected by family violence or experiencing payment difficulty.
This exemption does not apply to network charges which are set by the relevant Distribution Network Service Provider (DNSP), may change over time, and are directly passed on to customers.
