Our community grants are offered locally at the following EnergyAustralia sites each year, with our larger sites offering two grant rounds each year. See application dates below, and for more information about locations and how to apply, keep scrolling.

How to apply
Our selection criteria
Here’s what we look for when selecting community grant recipients:
Organisation
A clear understanding of your organisation’s purpose, who it targets and how it addresses the focus area.
Focus area
A clear outline of how your initiative aligns to one of these focus areas:
Funding
A clear demonstration of how the money will be used. The grant amount should cover the majority, if not all, of the total project cost. Priority will be given towards projects that are unlikely to get support from either government or private funding programs.
Location
Your initiative will make a positive impact within one of our local communities. See our community grant guidelines for location information.

Yes. The communities in which we operate will be given preference when selections are being made, however if you are close by and/or benefit the people who live within the locations we have listed then your application will be considered.
The maximum of each grant application is $10k. You can apply for this maximum amount if it is the majority of the funding you require. Projects that need substantially more money and require other sources of funding or sponsorship to proceed will not be considered.
Each year Hallett distributes $10k in community grant funding and $10k in small sponsorship funding. We like to support a wide range of projects in our local community, so if you have a project with the total value that is smaller than $10k, we encourage you to apply. We encourage you to complete your form digitally and submit it electronically via email however you can download and print your form to complete it by hand if needed.
Every web browser will be slightly different. First click on the link to take you to the PDF form. You can choose to download that PDF to your computer to then print it, or click the print icon to go directly to print. The download and print icons in your web browser will look something like this.
If you choose to print your form you will then need to scan it, or take a photo of each page, and attach the image to an email to apply. Applications that are posted or delivered by hand are not eligible.

Do not send your application in outside of the dates applicable for your location. Application deadlines are featured at the top of this page.
Send your application via email to the email address relevant to your local area. You can find this email address at the bottom of the application form.
You can only apply within the dates provided. If your local area has more than one round of grant funding (Yallourn VIC, Tallawarra NSW, Mt Piper NSW), and you have time to wait for funding, we encourage you to send your application within the dates of the next intake.
Although your application form will be accepted without an image, we prefer to have one on file. If you are a successful applicant your image will be used to promote your grant. Please remember to get full consent from anyone appearing in the image, and the photographer/source before you send it.
Yes, you’ll need to complete a new application to be considered.
Yes, if you are eligible, we encourage you to try again. You’ll need to complete a new application to be reconsidered. Make sure you address any feedback about why you were unsuccessful last time.
All application forms will be assessed based on funding, eligibility criteria and terms and conditions.
EnergyAustralia will notify successful applicants within four weeks of the applications closing date. Successful applicants will be notified by email.
EnergyAustralia will send successful applicants an offer for funding. Successful applicants must then provide a Tax Invoice and bank account details for electronic transfer of the funding.
