EnergyAustralia is committed to involving the community at the early stage of planning for 'major' projects on our electricity network such the construction of new substations, installation of new underground or overhead power lines and refurbishment of existing facilities. This allows us to ensure projects balance local neighbourhood issues with the wider community’s increasing electricity needs and our promise to further increase the high levels of reliability for our customers.
Our program of works are often in developed suburban or regional communities. As a reflection of this, EnergyAustralia’s project development process places a high value on engaging local communities to achieve an outcome that assesses the social, environmental, technical, economic considerations to achieve the best possible outcome for everyone.

HUNTER REGION
· A new zone substation at Nulkaba ($11 million)
· A new zone substation at Maryland ($12 million)
· A new zone substation at Tanilba Bay ($6 million)
· A new zone substation at Croudace Bay ($16 million)
· A new substation at Rothbury ($20 million)
SYDNEY EAST AND CBD
· A new zone substation in Campbell Street Surry Hills ($29 million)
· A new 1.3km cable tunnel through the southern CBD to carry high voltage cables linking four substations ($55 million)
SYDNEY SOUTH
· A new zone substation at Green Square ($27 million)
