EnergyAustralia’s Work Experience Programme gives year 10, 11 or 12 high school and TAFE students’ exposure to the functions of a large business and in doing so provides the opportunity to develop an informed opinion about their possible career options. In addition to placements in our electrical apprenticeship centres in Newcastle, Muswellbrook and Sydney, EnergyAustralia also offers placement in our Sydney Head Office functions.
Work experience placements have been successful in allowing students to:
- Observe a variety of work situations
- Undertake supervised work appropriate to the student’s skill level and within a safety framework
- Ask questions about the workplace
- Gain skills related to being at work
- Find out about training and employment opportunities
To provide this opportunity whilst maintaining the performance and delivery standards that the community expects of EnergyAustralia specific dates have been identified in which work experience students can be accommodated. These dates are listed on the relevant placement pages. No other dates will be considered, and no other duration other than the stated duration will be considered.
The EnergyAustralia work experience is voluntary and unpaid
