Energy Efficiency Centre

EnergyAustralia's Energy Efficiency Centre at Homebush  is a state-of- the-art facility designed to promote energy efficiency and environmental sustainability. It uses interactive hands-on displays, touch screens and thermal imaging to demonstrate how residential and business customers can save energy, money and the environment.

Inside EnergyAustralia's Energy Efficiency Centre

The Centre's practical approach is particularly targeted towards engaging advisors and influencers, the people who customers rely on when making decisions - including tradespeople and professionals like plumbers, electricians, engineers, architects, real estate agents and lighting specialists.

Open by appointment, the Centre features a meeting room which is available for seminars and events by associations, businesses, community, school and other groups. EnergyAustralia also hosts regular public open days and seminars at the Centre.

The Centre builds on EnergyAustralia's past energy efficiency programs for homes and businesses including our hot water replacement program, second fridge retirement program, energy efficiency light giveaways and energy audits. The approach in developing the centre is consistent with our commitment to the community and environment that has seen the company achieve a Corporate Responsibility Index Gold rating for three years running.

Developed within an existing facility, the centre incorporates environmentally friendly and sustainable materials and practices where possible. It is powered by 100% Pure Energy from renewable source, like all our buildings, and in addition by solar panels on the roof. We've installed CFL and LED lights along with zoning and sensors, a control system and have solar hot water. We've chosen appliances and materials with care too. The downstairs flooring, for example, is recycled rubber.
