Earn while you study at university
EnergyAustralia’s unique Cadetships offer participants the chance to graduate from University while earning and working in the energy industry. Our Cadetships are a five-year program combining work with University. While undertaking a four-year Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Electrical) specialising in power engineering, our cadets work at EnergyAustralia for at least 80 weeks. The on-the-job experience gives our cadets an extra edge and allows the opportunity to develop teamwork, leadership and communication skills.
The 80-week work period is divided into periods of 13 weeks during each of the first three years at Uni. Cadets then work full time in a variety of roles for one year while they defer their fourth year of University studies. In this period, you’ll be given two six month placements and then return to Uni in your fifth year to undertake an industry-based thesis project.
From day one you will be part of a team and have real responsibilities. After you have completed your Cadetship and Uni degree, you will be eligible to apply for the electrical engineering graduate program and on completion of the program you can work as a professional engineer earning around $90,000 per annum.
