EnergyAustralia has proudly partnered with Port Adelaide Football Club to bring the Club’s Community Youth Program to some 500 school children in the Mid North region.
Last Tuesday Port Adelaide captain Travis Boak, and players Robbie Gray and Matt White, visited Clare and Burra primary schools where they spoke about healthy eating, physical activity and positive decision making.
Following the school visits, EnergyAustralia invited the Port players to visit the nearby 111MW Waterloo wind farm for a site tour and to meet with local employees and their families.
Mike Clee, EnergyAustralia’s South Australian Operations Manager said it was great to be able to work in partnership with Port Adelaide Football Club to support the local region.
“As a business in the Mid North, we are committed to supporting the local community and we’re thrilled to take part in this initiative which aims to inspire young kids to make healthy lifestyle choices,” he said.
“The Port players really enjoyed the wind farm tour and ran a fantastic Q&A session for our employees and their families.”
Travis Boak, Port Adelaide Captain said he was overwhelmed by the warm reception the Club had received in the region.
“We had a fantastic day in the Mid North. I really enjoyed the opportunity to speak with local school children and local families and to share some insights about Port’s promising start to the season,” he said.
“We also got the opportunity to see a wind farm up close and find out more about the benefits of wind energy, which was really interesting.”
