Multi Unit Residential Buildings Energy & Peak Demand Study

In 2003, EnergyAustralia partnered with the NSW Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Natural Resources (now the NSW Department of Planning, DoP) to deliver a study on the energy consumption of multi-unit residential buildings. This project was funded under the Demand Management & Planning Project (DM&P), with project management and technical support provided in-kind by EnergyAustralia and the DoP.

BASIX Water and Energy Monitoring Project

EnergyAustralia and the Department of Planning are undertaking a monitoring and evaluation study of completed BASIX compliant homes to assess the level of energy savings achieved.

To facilitate this study, EnergyAustralia will receive information from BASIX certificates, excluding identifying data such as names or contact details, from the Department of Planning. The information will be cross-matched with consumption data already collected by EnergyAustralia for billing purposes.

EnergyAustralia will use the results of this study for demand management and energy conservation plans and policies. It will also provide information in de-personalised, aggregated form to the Department of Planning to help it assess how BASIX is delivering on its sustainability objectives.

Independent Review of the Demand Management & Planning Project Results for the Sydney Inner Metropolitan Area

EnergyAustralia engaged CRA International to conduct a review of the Demand Management and Planning Project (DMPP) data to determine the potential DM available in the Sydney Inner Metropolitan Area. This review was used as an input to the Sydney Inner Metropolitan Area Investigation Report.
