Electricity Safety Week is held in primary schools across Sydney, the Central Coast and Hunter Regions in September each year.
In 2010 Electricity Safety Week will be held from the 6th to the 10th of September.
The aim of Electricity Safety Week is to teach children to stay safe around electricity both at home and outdoors. It is a hands-on program that shows young people how electricity works, how to use it and how to stay safe around it.
Through the Electricity Safety Week curriculum, developed by the NSW Department of Education as part of the NSW Science and Technology K-6 syllabus, students will learn about a wide range of electrical equipment, from substations that power whole suburbs to everyday household appliances.
Activity and prize packs are available to primary schools located within the EnergyAustralia network distribution area. Click here to register your school for Electricity Safety Week.
